The University of Leicester was founded in 1921 and is one of the top universities in the UK. The site for the University was donated by Thomas Fielding Johnson, a local businessman. He did this to create a living memorial for all the local people who made sacrifices during the First World War. This is reflected in their motto – “so that they may have life”.

They provide numerous undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The university is situated in the heart of Leicester. Their campus has state-of-the-art facilities such as art studios, laboratories, art studios, libraries, computing centres, and more. In addition, their campus has fitness centers, cafeterias, sports arenas, parks, and auditoriums. They have ranked as the 27th best university in the UK in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings and 185th in the world.

Accommodation

The University of Leicester has a range of student accommodation options for undergraduate and postgraduate students. New first-year students are guaranteed accommodation when they apply. Most of the accommodation is just a walk or bus ride from the campus. You can expect to have a bed, wardrobe, desk, desk chair, shelves, drawers, bedside table, and bin in your bedroom. You will also have access to fast Wi-Fi and get basic contents insurance. Most of the bathroom and shower facilities are shared. Laundry facilities are available on-site. The kitchens and living areas are also generally shared. Some properties also have car parking on-site, bike storage, fitness studios nearby, games rooms, and cinema rooms.
