Tyne Metropolitan College is ideally situated between Newcastle city centre and the North Tyneside coastline. Their main campus is located on the Coast Road, a few minutes from the coast and city. They provide a range of programs for school leavers and adults as well as university-level courses and apprenticeships. Tyne Metropolitan College also has a dedicated sixth-form college which is at Hawkeys Lane in North Shields. They were rated good by Ofsted in 2019 and their campus has incredible facilities for students. Some of these include the flourish floristry, the coffee shop, and bistro, the hair and beauty salon as well as being minutes from the city centre and having excellent transportation links.

Types of Programs They Run

Tyne Metropolitan College provides several programs at different levels including courses for school leavers (16–18-year-olds) and adults as well as apprenticeships, part-time programs, and university-level courses. Their programs cover a wide range of topics including counselling, design, education and training, engineering, sport, health, social work, beauty therapy, catering, floristry, hairdressing, fitness, English, early years education, computing, construction, and more. Some of their programs cater to part-time learning also.

Admissions Process

To apply for most courses at Tyne Metropolitan College, you can do so directly on the website. To do so, navigate to the webpage of your chosen course and scroll down to click the apply button. When you do this, it will redirect you to an online application form to fill out. Once you have filled out your application in its entirety and submitted it, the admissions team will review it and contact you with their decision. For university-level programs though, you will need to make your application via the UCAS website. Remember to include the correct institution and course codes on your application, you will find these easily on the Tyne Metropolitan College website. After you have sent your application, the admissions team will review it and revert back to you. This can take a few weeks.
