About 

The University of Chester was established in 1839 and is a well-recognised public university located in Chester, England. It began as a teacher training college in the UK which later became the University of Chester. The university was founded by the Church of England and they continue to be guided by Christian values and are very proud of the supportive, inclusive, and open environment that characterises the university. They welcome students of all faiths, encouraging diversity amongst their students. 

They have six campuses in addition to a University Centre in Shrewsbury. Their Parkgate Road Campus is situated on 32 acres and has a mixture of modern and old-style Victorian buildings. They offer a range of facilities including a sports hall, bookshop, fitness centre, laboratories and a bank. They have more than 19,850 students across their programs. The university provides courses across a range of disciplines including dentistry, health, science, art, social studies, media, and more.  

Postgraduate Programs They Run 

The University of Chester offers a wide range of professional postgraduate programs spanning topics such as archaeology, science, psychology, mental health, animal welfare, disabilities, health, mentoring and coaching, creative writing, and more. Some of the accreditations their courses offer include Master of Art (MA), Master of Science (MSc), Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert), Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip), Master of Research (MRes), and more. Their postgraduate programs can be completed part-time or full-time.  

Admissions Process 

Full-time undergraduate applicants should make their applications through UCAS. To start your application, visit www.ucas.com and hit the Apply and Track button. Then, register your details. After you have registered, you will be able to log in to apply for your chosen course. You can apply for up to five courses and the cost of the application is £26 if you apply for more than one course. If you choose to apply for just one, you will be charged £20. When you are making your application, it is essential to ensure you are included the correct institution and course codes. These can be found on the University of Chester website and also the UCAS website. Before you make your application, be sure to check over all the entry requirements and ensure you meet them.  

After you have sent your application, the university will get in touch with you to update you on your application’s progress. Part-time undergraduate applicants and postgraduate applicants can both apply directly on the University of Chester website. Email admissions@chester.ac.uk or call 01244 511000 to ask for an application form. Make sure you have all the documents required and that you meet all the entry criteria before you send your application. Once you have sent it, the university will be in touch with you to let you know whether they would like to offer you a place on the course. International candidates can apply directly on the website by clicking the apply now button on their chosen course page. For postgraduate research programs, you must apply using the postgraduate research application form which is to be filled out online. This can be found on the University of Chester website.  

Accommodation 

The University of Chester offers a wide range of accommodation options to its students. From self-catered properties across their sites to full board accommodation at their Chester campus, there is something to suit everyone’s individual needs. Most of the accommodation is a short walk from the campus and is shared. The number of students sharing each of the residencies varies as do the mix of standard and en-suite rooms that comprise the properties. Students in these properties will usually have a shared kitchen, common room, and bathroom area. Rooms will consist of a bed, wardrobe, storage, and a study area including a desk, chair, and shelves. Scholarships and Financial Support 

The University of Chester has several scholarships and bursaries available to assist students in paying their tuition fees. Some of these include the Chester Bursary which awards £1,500, the Chester Bursary for part-time students which awards the same amount, the Care Experienced Bursary, and the Foundation Year Bursary among others. There are also scholarships available to those who excel in music and sport. In addition, there are a number of international scholarships available.
