About 

The University of Bedfordshire is proud to be recognised internationally and to be an award-winning institution that has been providing high-quality education to tonnes of students. They appeared in the Times Higher Education World University rankings, ranked as one of the top 300 universities in the world under 50 years old in the Young University rankings. The University of Bedfordshire leads the way in expanding educational opportunities, with over 40% of their students coming from families with no history of participation in higher education.  

In addition, around 70% of their students are mature students returning to education and more than half are from Black or ethnic minority backgrounds, under-represented in higher education. The university has five campuses – Luton Campus, Bedford Campus, Milton Keynes Campus, Aylesbury Campus, and Putteridge Bury Campus. The university has four faculties – University of Bedfordshire Business School, Faculty of Education and Sport, Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, and Faculty of Creative Arts, Technologies and Science.  

Postgraduate Programs They Run 

The University of Bedfordshire has a number of postgraduate courses to choose from spanning topics such as business, art, and design, science, philosophy, and more. In addition to taught postgraduate programs, they also provide research postgraduate programs. Currently, they have approximately 450 students who are enrolled on their research postgraduate programs. They are working towards one of the following accreditations – Master of Philosophy (MPhil), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Master of Science (MSc), Master of Arts (MA), and Professional Doctorate. Admissions Process 

If you are looking to apply for a full-time undergraduate course, you can make your application by visiting the University of Bedfordshire website and navigating to the page of your chosen course. Here you will see an apply now button. When you click this button, you will be redirected to submit your application via UCAS. It is important to fill out the full application and include the correct institution and course codes, you can find these on the university’s website. Before applying, you should ensure you meet all the entry requirements and read the course specification. After you have made your application, the university will be in touch with you to let you know whether they are offering you a place on your chosen course.  

Part-time and postgraduate applicants can follow the same application process. The only difference is when they hit the apply now button, it will not redirect to UCAS. They can apply for courses directly via the university’s course portal. Be sure to read all the entry requirements before you apply and that you have all the materials required. Once you have applied, the university will contact you to update you on your application’s status. International applicants can make an application online directly through the university’s website or through an agent. Accommodation 

The University of Bedfordshire has student accommodation to cater for students at each of its campuses – Luton Student Village, Bedford Polhill Park, and Aylesbury Campus. Living in the halls, you can rest knowing you will be safe and that your belongings will be secure. There is 24/7 security on campus, your rent covers all the bills and contents insurance and there is free Wi-Fi available in all rooms. Along with that, regular events are organised for students living in the halls such as movie nights, day trips, and BBQs. Room sizes vary from standard en-suites to deluxe en-suites, deluxe plus, and studios. All rooms have a bed, either single or double as well as a study area. Prices vary depending on the type of room you book; they start at £110 per week. You can apply for accommodation online on the University of Bedfordshire website.  

Scholarships and Financial Support 

The University of Bedfordshire has a number of scholarships available for undergraduates, postgraduates, and international students. The UG Bursary and Scholarship, in particular, which offers undergraduate students a scholarship worth £2,400 which is to be used over 3 academic years. In addition, there is the Alumni Tuition Discount for postgraduate students as well as the Care Leavers Bursary which is available to students who are ‘open to care’. There are also sports scholarships available for those who have a record of performance in sport.
