There is great news in Swansea University as they picked up an honourable silver award earlier this week.
The University was recognized for the role they played in inclusion and diversity during the pandemic.
They picked up the silver Whatuni award at the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2021 which took place recently and were broken up into four different categories. These included Enhances Graduate Outcomes, Student Support, Diversity and Inclusion and Excellence in Digital Innovation.
The awards ceremony takes place every year and is still running strong in it’s eighth year.
The role of the awards is to recognise those in education who show incredible support, diversity, inclusion, innovation and as well as celebrating and showing resilience amongst students and staff in universities across the UK.
Swansea University was one of the lucky winners who were recognized for the part they have played in the inclusion and diversity of students throughout Covid-19 and providing a safe and welcoming community and environment for everyone.
The University was also recognized for many of their other initiatives they have brought to the fore in the last year such as designing solutions to enhance the experience of minority ethnic and overseas students at University through working with an Advance HE practitioner and creating an inclusive forum for students who may have disabilities as well as creating a support group for trans or non binary students of the University.
