About 

Leeds Beckett University was founded in 1824 as Leeds Mechanics Institute. It initially was comprised of two rooms – a library and a classroom which were suited at a site on Park Row. In 1841, they moved location and merged with the Leeds Literary Society the following year. They then moved again to a new building in 1968 on Cookridge Street. In 1897, the university was renamed the Leeds Institute of Science, Art, and Literature. It then merged with three former institutions to form Leeds Polytechnic in 1970.  

The City of Leeds and Carnegie College and the James Graham College both joined Leeds Polytechnic then in 1976. It then was renamed Leeds Metropolitan University and started granting degrees in 1989. In 2013, it was finally renamed to its current name – Leeds Beckett University. The City Campus is the main one and it is in close proximity to Leeds city centre and has numerous administrative and academic buildings. In addition to the city campus, Leeds Beckett University has a 100-acre campus situated in Beckett Park. The university is comprised of 13 academic schools which provide numerous undergraduate, postgraduate, and online courses.  

Postgraduate Programs They Run 

Leeds Beckett University provides numerous postgraduate programs. Some of the topics their postgraduate courses explore include law, fashion, education, choreography, marketing, health and safety, and more. Their postgraduate programs can be completed full-time or part-time. Some of the accreditations their postgraduate programs offer include Master of Science (MSc), Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip), Master of Art (MA), Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert), and more.

Leeds Beckett University has a wide range of rooms available in their halls of residence. All their accommodation is situated in close proximity to their campuses, with facilities such as free Wi-Fi, TVs in the living areas, and en-suite bathrooms. Prices start from £106 per week. The room sizes vary from standard to standard plus, premium standard, premium en-suite, premium plus en-suite, classic studios, and more.  

You can expect each room to contain a bed, wardrobe, and bedside locker as well as a study area which includes a chair, desk, and shelves. Some also come with notice boards and desk lights.
