Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons to Launch Inaugural International Postgraduate Veterinary Education Symposium

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) has announced a landmark event for the global veterinary community: the inaugural International Postgraduate Veterinary Education (PGVE) Symposium. This first-of-its-kind gathering will take place in person at London’s historic Ironmongers’ Hall from Tuesday, 18th November to Wednesday, 19th November 2025.

The two-day symposium aims to establish a dedicated international community of practice to advance veterinary education. The event is designed to bring together leaders and practitioners to share high-quality scholarship, research, and innovation, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the satisfaction, motivation, engagement, and wellbeing of veterinary professionals worldwide.

The programme is structured around four critical stages in a veterinary professional’s career where education plays a pivotal role:

• Graduate transition into the profession

• Advanced education and training (postgraduate qualifications, internships, and residencies)

• Continuing education and professional development

• Licensure and revalidation

The event will feature inspiring presentations from a distinguished roster of educational leaders from both veterinary and human health professions. Confirmed keynote speakers include:

An optional pre-symposium workshop and networking day will be held on Monday, 17th November at 1 Hardwick Street, London, for those wishing to contribute directly to the development of this new international community.
